The Month of the Metal Snake

I haven't sent you a monthly update. Nothing happened. Except for my dilemma - eh what's the point in technical words if people do not understand, can't apply, it's useless. Or maybe it's a Death God Star stirring up something yucky in me... Or maybe it's Ungrateful Punishment... Haha Does sound like an excuse, doesn't it?

So I have decided to step away from the typical "this month brings this and that" and attempt to give you the info you can actually use. Fingers crossed.

Let's start from your space.

Monthly 3 Killings move to the East. We use "East" in general, because these 3 Killings will take half of NE and a half of SE. And since Annual 3K is also there, disturbing this sector might bring more serious consequences. Possible consequences are - damage to the body, damage to the relationships between people, obstacles and delays in projects. Negative effects - up to a year. Will it happen to you? 🀷 If you are going through a good luck cycle, probably not. If you are going through a bad luck cycle, most likely.

The dangerous axis of this month is NE - SW. And these sectors are also the most unfortunate. Can you sleep in these sectors? Yes (if you don't have serious health issues). Can you work in these sectors? Also, yes (if you do not have serious issues). Can you clean these sectors? Unless you are bringing these big machines that clean floors, please do. Can you light candles? Tealights - yes, 7 day candles - no. Well, I wouldn't.

Snake month is the first month of the Fire season. It means that Fire and Earth elements are getting strong, and the other 3 are getting weak.

You need to look at your BaZi chart, and look at your 5 Structures breakdown. How high is your Fire and your Earth this year? What about the other 3?

If your Fire and Earth are within 40 - 70%, you're good. Your chart can handle this elemental increase.

If your Fire and Earth are below 40% in your natal chart (not annual), you need to pay attention to your heart, cardiovascular health, digestion and stomach (depending what element was super low and now suddenly increased).

Metal element is considered "dead" in the summer. People with Metal Day Masters (or folks with dominant Metal in their charts) might feel drained, energy levels might drop. "Lovely" feelings of sadness, disappointment, woe-is-me. Can be countered by deep breaths (activating Lung Qi, increasing Qi circulation in general), counting your blessings, and laughter.

Water element in the summer is not doing that great either. Plus this element is not present this month at all, which is rather unfortunate. Because Water element is kidneys and bladder. Kidneys store our prenatal Qi. If they are out of whack, they cannot process postnatal Qi (that good energy that we are trying to get through all our good eating, good sleeping, good behaving etc), and then they use the energy you have been born with to maintain your body, and that is not very good in the long run. (Because we want to live forever haha) So we need to take care of the kidneys this month. Besides, low Water leads to fears, anxieties, and stagnation.

Yoga. Qigong. Deep breathing. Sour foods (but not too much). Salty foods (but not too much). Balance! I already mentioned that, but will repeat - when it comes to health, we want to balance the elements.

Foods, in general, for the summer. Sad news for BBQ lovers - nope. Fried chicken - nope. Pitchers of Margaritas - nope. Iced teas (I'm talking where you fill your glass with ice to the brim and then pour some tea over it) - nope. Ice cream - nope. And lol nope to your oh-so-healthy-so-good-for-you smoothies. Well, technically, this is the season where healthy and elementally balanced people can handle raw foods, but not all of us are, so do check your natal chart to see if your healthy food choices are actually good for you, and you are not damaging your system.

Avoid heavy, greasy, spicy foods. No to excessive alcohol. And, unfortunately, no to numerous cups of coffee (increases Fire in your body).

It would seem that we can counter Fire with Water, right? So, logically thinking, if we introduce all these Water related foods and beverages, we should be good, right? Unfortunately, no. Because all these Water things can shock our system, and we will get sick. So we want cooling foods, not cold.

Leafy greens, fresh herbs, cucumbers, zucchini, cabbage, carrots, sweet (not sour) strawberries, cherries, apricots, black grapes, grapefruits (no oranges though).

Rice, wheat, millet, oats, buckwheat (just not that nasty green kind 🀒).

Pork, chicken, turkey. No to red meat, the biggest no is to lamb.

Seafood is a no. White fish is a yes, but freshwater fish. Saltwater fish increases Yang in your body.

What to drink?

Cool water (not cold). Herbal teas, green teas, and black teas. However, do keep in mind that black tea is considered hot, so if your Fire element is high, stick with herbal and green.

Dairy is ok for this season, but not the fermented kind.

Do use common sense, and don't get overly rigid with it. You'll drive yourself crazy. We don't want that. Never.

What else...

Go to sleep late, wake up early, take a nap during Monkey hour. Make sure you have quality rest. When exercising, do it in the morning or in the evening. No running at noon, that's not healthy.

Avoid anger and irritation. Of course, do not suppress, let it out. Preferably during your Relief God Star hour. Don't walk around with these emotions. They will damage your heart.

Keep quiet more than talking.

Quiet joy. Compassion. Common sense. Clarity. And you'll have a lovely Fire Season.
